Chapter 4

The Align Cartridge dialog box appears on your screen. Depending on

the cartridge combination you have installed in your printer, a test page

with one or more alignment patterns is printed. Each pattern has a

number under it.

The test page looks similar to the one shown:

From each alignment group on the test page, locate the number under

the alignment pattern that comes closest to forming a perfectly straight

line.

For example, select

from Group A, since it comes closest to forming a

straight line.

In the Align Cartridges dialog box, enter the numbers from the printed

test page of the appropriate alignment settings.

After you have entered a number for all of the patterns, click OK.

Tip

Print quality

suggestions

•Make sure you are using a

paper designed especially

for inkjet printing.

•If you are using specialty

media, make sure the print

side is facing you.

Quick Fix

If print is smudged or

too dark:

•Make sure the Paper Type

setting in the printer

software matches the paper

type loaded in the printer.

•Make sure the paper is

straight and in good

condition.

•Let the ink dry before

handling the paper.

•Clean the print cartridge

nozzles. For help, see

“Cleaning print nozzles” on

page 35.
