Simplex Enabler Board
The Simplex Enabler board is removed when changing the Wide-Ultra drive cage assembly to
Duplex mode.
To remove the Simplex Enabler board:
1. Perform the preparation procedures. See “Preparation Procedures” earlier in this chapter.
2. Remove the drive cage assembly. See “Drive Cage Assemblies” earlier in this chapter.
3. Pull the Simplex Enabler board off the plugs on the back of the drive cage assembly.

Reverse steps 1 through 3 to replace the Simplex Enabler board.
Duplex Enabler Board
The Duplex Enabler board ships in the country specific kit with every Wide-Ultra drive cage
assembly. It is removed and replaced using the same steps as the Simplex Enabler board. The
Duplex Enabler board has a SCSI connector for removable media use. Before removing the
Duplex Enabler board, be sure to disconnect any SCSI cables.
