Remove the expansion slot cover.

To replace the component, reverse the removal procedure.

Installing a non-hot-plug expansion board

1. Power down the server (on page 27).

2. Extend the server from the rack, if applicable ("Extend the server from the rack" on page 28).

3. Remove the access panel ("Removing the access panel" on page 29).

4. Remove the PCI riser cage ("Removing the PCI riser cage" on page 57).

CAUTION: To prevent damage to the server or expansion boards, power down the server and remove all

AC power cords before removing or installing the PCI riser cage.

5. Remove the expansion slot cover for expansion slot 1 ("Removing expansion slot cover 1" on page

58).

6. Unlock the PCI retaining clip.
