Table 15: Minimum system revisions for PRESTOSERVE support

14.3.20 DEC/VAX 7000/10000 Memory interleaving restriction
A problem with the LEVI-A chip on early CPU modules results in the following memory
configurations only being allowed.
1, 2 or 4 of the same size modules, up to max of 512 MB
1 x 128 MB + 2 x 64 MB modules
1 x 256 MB + 2 x 128 MB modules
An unsupported configuration results in the following console message at boot time:
"Invalid memory interleave—boot disallowed".
Fixed on VAX 7000/10000 by FCO 7xxx-F004 (see Section 13). No fix for DEC 7000/10000s
at present.
NOTE: Some VAX 7600 CPU modules (E2045) may not be at the revision they claim to be.
See BLitz TD 1947.
14.3.21 RZ57s on ALPHA platforms
RZ57s on DEC 7000 systems must be rev. D01 (rev. 6000 ucode) or above. Lower revs. can
suffer undetected write faults. An EQ kit has been proposed, but not for an FCO. Customers
are expected to buy it!
14.3.22 RF73s in VAX 7600 SF73LA, cable problem
The flex cable at the rear of the RF73 can get damaged if the drive is positioned too far back
on it’s skid plate. The drive should be mounted using the third set of holes from the front.
14.3.23 VMS gains time
Some VAX 7000 systems experience a problem where VMS system time gains by more the
9 sec per day (the quoted tolerance). This is fixed by a REV N06 KA7AA (E2045-AA) CPU
module. If module can’t be replaced, customer can run a batch job to do SET TIME every
12 hours.
