Using Quick Controls
When a power-on password is set, the following Quick Controls
are available:
■
QuickLock
—Disables the keyboard and pointing device. (In
Compaq Computer Security this option is called Enable
QuickLock of the Keyboard.)
■
QuickLock on Suspend
—Sets the computer to initiate
QuickLock whenever the computer enters Suspend (Standby).
(In Compaq Computer Security this option is called
QuickLock on Standby.)
■
Lock keyboard and mouse at power-on
—Sets the
computer to initiate QuickLock each time the computer is
turned on or restarted. (In Compaq Computer Security this
option is called Enable QuickLock at System Startup.)
■
QuickBlank
—Clears the screen whenever QuickLock
initiates. (In Compaq Computer Security this option is called
QuickBlank the Screen When Locked.)
NOTE:
Quick Controls cannot be used on an external keyboard
connected through a USB connector.
Setting Quick Controls
Quick Controls
■
Can be set in Computer Setup in all operating systems.
■
Can be set in Compaq Computer Security only in
Windows 95, Windows 98, or Windows NT 4.0.
■
Can
not
be set in Compaq Computer Security if a USB
keyboard has
ever
been connected to the computer.
NOTE:
Disabling QuickLock in either utility does not remove a
power-on password.
