Troubleshooting with the LEDs and the
Reset Button
If you are having problems with the hub, find the symptom in Table 3-1 that
best describes what you are observing, and attempt the solution that seems
appropriate. Where more than one solution is possible, the most likely solution
is listed first.

GBIC LED not illuminating

1. GBIC Module not
inserted correctly.

1. Try reinserting GBIC Module.
2. Check the GBIC Module.
Reinsert or replace GBIC
Module.
3. Call Customer Support.
Bypass Port LED
illuminating for an active
port
1. Faulty FC-AL device
2. Faulty cable
3. Faulty hub
1. Check the attached FC-AL
device to see if faulty or turned
off.
2. Check or replace the cable.
3. Call Customer Support.
Fault LED remaining on
after the 60-second self
test
1. Temperature fault
2. Faulty hub
1. Make sure air baffles not
obstructed. Check ambient
temperature.
2. Call Customer Support.
Power LED staying off
when the LED should be
on
Hub not getting voltage Check the line voltage.
Check or replace the power cord.
Call Customer Support.
Some of the LEDs not
working properly
Unidentified error exits Press Reset Button to reinitialize
loop. Resetting the hub disrupts the
network, which can impact
performance. This will not normally
corrupt data on disk drives attached
to hub.
